I love it when people send me photos of their Spirit Figures at home....

I have been neglecting my blog...

I wonder if you do this too...?

have all kinds of wonderful ideas to share on your blog while you're busy doing things that don't require a bunch of thought, but still keep you from posting.
I sure do.

When I can't get to my blog I have all kinds of wonderfilled thoughts and personal insights and dialog floating around in my brain and they all seem interesting topics to blog about. But when I don't sit down right away with blogging as my intent they lose their energy and feel stilted.

I think that's the word I'm looking for...

stilted
OR
Lots of times I sit down here to post and NOTHING comes...blank...
One afternoon I actually ran down the back hill and into the house and sat down here to post something I wanted to share before it could flit right out of my head. I startled my Bear with my urgency.

I also have deadlines I have to meet this month.

I'm going to be a part of the california fiber artists exhibit at Arts Visaila in October and the deadline for the opportunity to be on the postcard is coming up on the 15th of this month.
I'd like to have at least one of my Spirit Figures done in time to submit a photo.

So I've been in the studio.

And I have some wild things going on in my life...

I say wild because they are so out of my control.
You probably know the kind I mean...

stuff you can't change or fix,
but can't ignore either
and in fact, you need to be totally present as the events play out.
The only real choices I have are to be present, or not, and how I react.
There is the Serenity Prayer...
It's a good one...

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change...

the courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference.

It's been my mantra more then once in my lifetime.

Well, that was a great post!
I agreed with everything you said about blogging, Julie. And with life, sometimes all we can do is tie up our shoelaces and go for the ride. Hugs to you.xx♥

I hope you have smooth flowing waters soon!
I tend to be like you where wonderful thoughts flit through my brain as I am doing other things but once I can blog WHOOSH! The thoughts have played themselves out. I've been keeping paper and pen close by for those moments now. :o)

I think it is wonderful that you do what ever it is you want, blog, create, take breaks. I carry paper and pen with my camera and write things as they come. If I waited until I was in front of the computer I might come up with nothing. Last night I woke twice with beginning lines for poems. One was a voice that said it, the other was in my dream. I wrote them down and went back to sleep. Wishing you well with all your projects!
