......amma spirit figure

I've been commissioned to create a Spirit Figure who brings to mind the living Saint Amma.....

I've had several friends attend Darshan where Amma will offer blessings in the form of hugs.
It's said that she will to sit for up to 20 hours,
giving thousands, upon thousands of hugs....

I've been meditating on how I can best create this Spirit Figure for the woman who feels a connection to Amma.

I'm excited....
I can't wait to see where she will take me.

"The one word solution to all the problems the world is facing today is compassion. "

1000s of hugs--wow! I'm afraid I would lose enthusiasm long before that. I've heard of politicians getting their hands rubbed raw from shaking so many other hands.

What a sacred honour being commissioned. Amma is such a beautiful being, my friend received a hug from her during her visit to Australia and said it felt like Amma "knew" everything about her and forgave her everything. Blessed Be.

what a beautiful gift to work on this! I know you'll find just the right thing, you listen so well in this world!

I feel as if I got a hug just knowing about this project. Thanks!!

Hi Julie,
This is a precious piece.
Years ago I waited in line for a hug. It took hours to get there. Tears rolled down my checks for no apparent reason as I watched her hug person after person. When she hugged me she chanted and then said "darling open your heart" I thought my heart was soft and open after watching all that love. Then it was as if iron gates slammed open around my heart and she gently pushed me away as she pulled the next person into her arms. I could not even stand up. I was not the same for days. The entire world had more color and life to it. Sweet and profound.

Snow, I'm a hugger, but the most I share in is maybe 20 on a big hug day. It's obvious that Amma is in a special place when she gives Darshan....

Lisa, I'm almost done with the piece and hope to deliver the figure this weekend. She is coming along easily...a gift.

Natalie, thank you...not so clever, but blessed with guides who send me on the most interesting journeys. The woman who has asked for the piece is a gentle soul and I think a new friend. Lucky me.

Ladybug, you're right...I think I did find some really wonderful small prayer flags while I was in Oregon that will put the final touch on this Amma figure...she is going to be quite colorful. I've also made some tiny clay flowers for around her neck...

Tammie Lee and Kathleen,
Thank you for sharing your stories...how profound it is when we meet someone who so dramatically changes our hearts...opens us up.
Because of this commission I now feel a strong desire to attend the next Darshan I can get away for...
hug, hug
